Netto netbook

I can’t remember the make or model number but I have just seen the worst netbook in existence, the screen was half the size of the lid as their is a clip on remote? And the spec list said 1.2 ghz processor when all others are at the standard 1.6.

I asked for a price, I was told £149.99 I’m sorry for anyone who may of got one, a truely terrible device!

The Recession

Are you one of the many still suffering from the recession? I know I am!
Do you think it, at all odd that the banks pretty much caused this recession? They screwed us all over, got bailed out with our money; now they are still charging us for going overdrawn and charging stupid amounts of APR on loans and credit cards.

This is a world gone mad, where the rich, greedy and corrupt can do what they want, and our own government backs them up. To be honest I think the RBS deserved to go into liquidation, people get their money out of their accounts and all debts are wiped clean. A small way of correcting the mistakes they made which we are suffering.

I’m 24 years old, have a reasonable job with reasonable pay. Can I afford a mortgage? No! Can I afford a car? No! Can I afford anything shiny or new? Unless its from a contract or finance, No!
I’m pretty sure there are plenty of people in my situation and it begs the question.
Are wages fair? Am I actually getting paid enough to live to certain degree of comfort? And surprise, surprise I think the answer is no.

The company’s that employ the people in this country seem to forget they really would be nothing without the work force, but they never find it in their heart to put some of their easily earned profits (from our hard work) back into the pay slips of those who earned them that money in the first place.
Nothing will ever change unless people rise up and change things, if we don’t complain and have each others support, we get nothing. Change this culture of fear, and keeping our noses out just to protect ourselves. To start, thinking about each other not just ourselves.

That’s my rant kind of over with, it sucks the way things are, I doubt it will ever change. It’s true what they say, nice guys finish last.

E-readers

I’ve just read a review on the ever growing in popularity e-readers.
Apparently these devices are sought after and as the technology improves more are coming out.
Am I the only person to see these devices as pointless?
Sorry to put such a downer on new and up coming technology, but these devices merely do what a phone or netbook can easily do, but that is their only purpose; to read books.

I’ve seen the size of the typical e-reader, and their massive for what they are, I just can’t see a point to them.
If you want to read a book, buy a book. We have already proven what strain back-lit displays can put on the eyes, so in one of the rare cases, the old fashioned way is the best way.

Netbook hype

Netbooks are all the range at the moment, providing light, cheap and easy ways to access the internet, create documents and receive e-mails on the move.

As much as the hype about the “mini-laptops” is still going, I just can’t see why.

All netbooks that I have come across so far come with a fairly poor 1.6ghz atom processor and 1 – 2GB of RAM memory, all good for basic needs, just no good at all for anything that demands more processing power i.e. gaming.

Looking through the specs and what mobile devices are out their; PDA’s, Smart phones and the iPhone offer a similar user experience and ability to that of the netbooks (all be it, lacking a QWERTY keyboard)

So why lug around a mini laptop when you can carry a similarly powered device in your pocket? I think at the moment, netbooks are just fashion hype and not much more.

With all that I have just said, I will admit other than netbooks, mobile devices are pretty poor when it comes to spreadsheets.
PDA’s powered by windows mobile have excel built in (i.e. I have been using the HP iPaq H6340) the area for the spreadsheet is small, keys are small and really fiddly so not much use. The iPhone on the other hand has no spreadsheet support, very disappointing (I depend on the iPhone more than any other device).

I’m still awaiting the arrival of a pocket sized computer, or media device that can literally do anything you ask of it.
Until that day comes, my bag will still contain at least my iPhone and webbook. Even though I usually have both those devices on me, I still can’t do everything I want to do. Maybe just one day soon, all that will change

Why…? Big Brother Sucks!

Big Brother is a waste of time!!
For the following reason:

-Why sit around a tv wasting your life?
Watching people sitting around thinking about what everybody else is doing?

It’s pop culture gone mad!
It’s mind numbing drivel; distracting the population from more important issues.

There needs to be more time spent dealing with meaningful things; like politics and less time thinking about Paris Hiltons shoes!!

Worms

A good few years ago I came across one of my all time favourite games; Team 17’s greatest creation – Worms!

Worms is an incredably fun and addictive platform game!
I use to play worms on the PC for years then it came out for the PS1.
And now it has been released on the iPhone OS!

From what I can find there are no limitations with the iPhone version; excellent game play and the same weapons as the original game. A problem I did come across was struggling to get a worm to jump, (still woking on that one; I could be to blame.) And a slight drawback is with the screen size, however, Team 17 do make the best out of the iPhone screen.

All in all for me, Worms is a fantastic game!
Excellent game play, easy to use, classic graphics and with all the fun of a classic PC game right in your pocket!

Check the airport box from the list below that line.
Click on airport options to setup a password for your wi-fi spot.
Check the wep password box
Select a 5 character password
Press ok
Now press the big start button.

Thats it!!
Now you have created your very own secure wi-fi spot from your mobile broadband dongle.

Google Wave

So it’s late and I’ve got my feet up watching the new Google Wave video.

Half way through at the moment.

From what I’ve seen so far, it has to be the most comprehensive, complex and complete communication tool created to date!

They’ve basically explained that the Wave is a conversation (which includes document editing, drag and drop photo sharing etc), which people can join rather than a conversation being created between two or more points.

Google Wave is basically Flickr, Facebook, AIM or MSN Messenger, Twitter and E-mail rolled into one. But with a whole new approach; it’s all in real time and spell checks in real time with auto correction!

Check the video for yourself!

Peavey V-Type EXP limited edition with licensed Floyd Rose tremolo

By far my favorite guitar!
A Korean handmade masterpiece!

The V-Type EXP plays and feels like it’s designed perfectly for playing Heavy Metal and Shredding !

Everything about its look and its shape; to me, is just perfect!

I admit that it could probably do with an upgrade from the standard pick-ups. And the sound can be, for lack of a better word muddy and unclear when playing fast or complex riffs. A good idea is to upgrade the pick-ups to better quality like, Seymour Duncans, Dimarzio Evolution or EMG Ceramic Hum Buckers.
From what I’ve read with better pick-ups the body can deliver a quality of sound far beyond what was expected of it!

I have also read a few horror stories regarding the build quality of a few V-Types out there.
I guess with all products, a certain percentage are likely to be flawed. A lot of people have also stated (in random forums) they have experienced fantastic build quality.
So I have to agree, the build quality is brilliant and feels really tough! An ideal guitar for playing gigs.

And as far as playability goes; as long as you know what you’re doing with a Floyd Rose, it’s a dream to play!
The action comes low, just as I like it and if your prefer a higher action; with the right tweaks you can achieve the ideal action to suit your needs!
